Smaug the Golden is the first in a range of statues being produced by Weta based on the artwork of John Howe, this particular piece coming from illustrations for the Hobbit. I quite enjoyed getting the large box home and then unpacking the statue. We have a small problem in that we don’t really have anywhere to display the statue properly, for now it’s sitting on a not-quite-big-enough bookcase in the study.
