Catching up

So, what have we been up to recently? Well, there was the Cara Dillon concert that the photo somewhere below came from. I was mightily embarrassed by that photo. One of my pet hates is people who take photos while using the flash on their camera in a concert, most distracting. I normally double check […]

Cara Dillon

Taken last night at the Cara Dillon concert in Stratford. Cara Dillon

Peter Gabriel

A couple of photos from the Peter Gabriel concert we went too last night. Peter sang the whole time inside the Zorb. During the chorus of the song he would bounce the ball up and down to the beat, a sight to behold. The last song, a rendition of Father, Son from the Ovo album.

Saltimbanco

Saturday night had us at the Royal Albert Hall for a performance by the Cirque du Soleil. Way back when we were in Melbourne we saw the Cirque du Soleil performance of Alegria. This time around it was Saltimbanco. These people take performance art and the circus to a level that defies comprehension, the feats […]

Family and Tori Amos

We’ve been busy over the last few days. I’ve had siblings ring me at work from Melbourne, I rang my Dad to say happy birthday, we’ve had Pauline ring after coming back from NZ last week and Keryn called Steve and Chris in Melbourne as well. We’ve spent a bit of time looking at Australian […]

Return to Camden

Hi, how is everyone? We’re both good, a little cold at times, but good. Autumn is here, the weather seems to have missed it and thinks its winter, but otherwise its all OK. We went to the Return to Camden concert last night. The line-up for the night had four different acts, the only one […]

The Feelers and Stellar

Friday night it was the turn of The Feelers and Stellar*, both playing at the Shepherds Bush Empire. I met Keryn at the Great Portland Street tube station and we took the Hammersmith Line around to the Shepherds Bush station. Actually, we were lucky to get there on time. The Central Line was down all […]

Crash Test Dummies @ Dingwalls

The Crash Test Dummies concert was held at Dingwalls which is in the middle of the Lock Markets at Camden, London. The concert doors were to open at 7:30pm, but the girl at the door told us that the sound check was taking longer than usual so things would be a bit late. CTD themselves […]

Tori Amos

Tori played at a place called the Union Chapel in Islington, and is still used as a church. It’s strange being seated for a concert in church pulpits looking at people lining up to buy beer. There was an assortment of interesting people at the concert, from full on gothic through punk and hippie to […]

Heather Nova

Great concert at Shepherds Bush Empire, an old BBC building. Heather is really small but has a huge and unique voice. Heather started off slowly but soon got into the swing of things and let loose with plenty of volume and passion. There were two encores, the second of which was dictated by the audience, […]
